“The mix of off-site appointments and office is really cool”

Jeremy Kriemler has served as Letting Specialist, Residential Property, at the Bern location since March. What does the TOM programme mean to him? And what does he like best about his job?

Jeremy, what do you do as a letting specialist?

I publish classified ads for properties for let, review the applications that come in, arrange tour appointments, prepare the rental agreements and organise handover and move-out inspections. Our peak times are always the beginning and end of the month when people move house. We have about 30 handovers or move-outs each month, So you have to keep an exact calendar and think ahead. I also handle rental deposits, hire cleaning services and answer questions for new tenants.

In metropolitan locations we get a lot of applicants for each apartment, but that is not the case in the countryside. Even though the application process is digital, I really want new tenants to have a personal contact from the time they move in to the time they move back out.

What do you like about your job?

The mix of off-site appointments and office is really cool. If you can plan ahead then you can make your own workday schedule. I like interacting with all kinds of people. And I love seeing beautiful apartments! We have a number of those, and it’s fun to see them.

What is especially important to you?

Making my clients happy is top priority. My clients include not only the applicants for the apartments, but also the managers and, of course, the owners, and I want a win-win-win situation. Potential tenants can judge me on the basis of each step from the classified ad to handover, so proper conduct is very important.

What do you like about TOM for your team?

The specialisation aspect is a real bonus. Management takes a lot of time from off-site appointments and so my work helps lighten the load. Ever since the letting specialist role was created, renting out vacant apartments in Bern has become much more efficient. I am a classic manager and worked as a management assistant before joining Wincasa. After spending years in management, I became more interested in marketing and leasing, and that’s why I chose this job.

What do you appreciate about Wincasa as an employer?

Wincasa is ahead of the game in digitalisation. I previously worked for an SME and almost everything was paper-based only. All the tools are great and keep me organised at a glance. And the combination of office and working from home is very practical, especially when I can work from home before an off-site appointment. I also like our new office design with a meeting area for us and the clients. On a personal note, I was able to advance my career, which makes me happy.

Jeremy lives and works in Bern. In his free time he likes to exercise: whether in the fitness studio, the Aare tributary, or on the lake in Thun. He loves to take part in, as well as watch, sport.
